Hi, I'm Julian Gillenwater, the founder of Keystone Privacy Automation, and my journey to building smarter, safer homes has been anything but conventional. At just 22, I've already explored 11 different career paths, from working at a gas station to being a car salesman and even construction with my father for five years. While each experience taught me valuable lessons, none fulfilled my core passion: to lead, develop, and find a path to help humanity and spread unity. I constantly felt like a pawn in someone else's system.
But beneath it all, my lifelong tech-savviness, love for video games, and passion for personal software and AI projects burned bright. I've spent years immersed in web design and AI research, constantly tinkering and building.
My deepest frustration, and my "aha!" moment, came from watching our world being increasingly taken over by algorithms that control our identities. I'm sick of it, and I'm determined to do my part to change this narrative. Even if it's a small step, I want to combat this negativity with my own brand of positivity and innovation.

My roots run deep right here in Northwestern Pennsylvania, specifically in the little town of Tionesta – one of the smallest towns in the smallest county in the state. Growing up in such a close-knit community, I learned the immense value of trust and genuine connection.
It became painfully clear to me that this community, my home, had almost no one – if anyone at all – offering the kind of privacy and security-focused smart home solutions that I believe everyone deserves. This felt like an injustice to our community, and it ignited a fierce determination in me to fill that void.
